What do our Lessons Offer?
All of our teachers have an enthusiastic and enjoyable approach to swimming, ensuring that this is reflected on our swimmers and that their lessons are fun all the time they are learning. Water confidence whilst remaining safe in and around water is also a discipline we follow.
We teach all swimmers based of their own ability and therefore swimmers are grouped in this way.
We pride ourselves on teaching children in small groups so they get the most from their time in the pool. On average we have 6-8 swimmers in a group. With our younger (Duckling) swimmers we also have additional assistants in the water.
Each term swimmers are assessed under Swim England requirements and a written assessment provided to parents/guardians to enable them to see their child's progress. Badges & certificates available for passed stages, distances, etc can be purchased for a small additional price.
Group Lessons are offered at our sessions on a Monday to Saturday.
For children of pre-school age and who prefer daytime lessons, we also have a pre-school session on Wednesdays at Hilltop School at 11:30am and on a Friday at Hilltop at 9:30am.
We can offer one to one lessons for children. This is based on a child's individual needs and teacher availability, so please enquire if this is an option you would like for your child.
A fun and enjoyable way to get younger children to start learning to be at ease with the water and build confidence. Also a great way for you to have fun with your little one!
The Parent & Child classes are run Wednesdays at Hilltop school at 11:30am and on a Friday at Hilltop at 9:30am.
It is never too late to learn a new skill and swimming is a life skill!!
Whether you are a novice, want to build your water confidence or improve technique come along and try our adult session at Hilltop School at 7pm on a Monday evening and 8pm on a Thursday evening.
The Personal Survival session is something we like to introduce once swimmers can swim 50 Metres confidently. This is a very pro-active session teaching children how to save themselves in the event of an incident e.g. how to keep afloat, keep warm, raise alarm.
RLSS UK’s Rookie Lifeguard programme gives your child the skills they need to be confident in the pool or the sea – which means peace of mind for you. Developed specially to appeal to children from 8 years and above, with varied activities, the Rookie Lifeguard scheme teaches children how to swim and enjoy water safely, whether in shallow or deeper water.
Rookie Lifeguard sessions run on a Monday evening at Cobham Hall School at 7:30pm.
Swimmers also have the option to partake in the combined Swim & Rookies session. This is made up of half hour swim followed by the 30 minute Rookies session. The session starts at 7pm, Mondays at Cobham Hall.
For our more established swimmers who want to improve their technique, swim times or just continue
